Get ready for a show that will light up the sky of Muxía and take your breath away: the firework display of the “Virgen de la Barca” Festival! Since the mid-19th century, fireworks have been an essential part of our celebration, transforming the nights into a display of light and colour.
Pyrotechnic magic is experienced at two key moments. On Saturday night, the sky lights up with a spectacular fireworks session launched from the breakwater, creating an unparalleled festive atmosphere. But the most awaited moment comes on Sunday, the big day of the Festival. As a culmination of the emotional procession of Our Lady of A Barca to the port, we unleash what the Cultural Association of the “Virgen de la Barca” Festival proudly assures is the largest firecracker display in all of Galicia.
This firecracker display is legendary in Muxía, being famous for its intensity and the amazement it produces in residents and visitors year after year. Its power was such that, in the past, it is said that the noise broke windows in the houses near the port!
Don’t miss this tradition that fills the nights of A Barca with light and sound, a show that has evolved over the centuries and that continues to be one of the most impressive moments of our festivities.
